DONATING YOUR TIME AS A VOLUNTEER
Our organization cannot do all that we do without the help of our wonderful volunteers. They help us walk the dogs, play with the cats, foster animals in their homes, clean, help with the MAC, volunteer at the Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic and assist with Outreach/Special Events. We always need caring people who want to make a real difference in the lives of homeless pets and in the community.
Contact: The HSTB Volunteer Coordinator Ben Moehnert can be reached via email or by calling 813-774-4344. (Please note that Ben is out of the office 7/15 - 7/27). There will be no volunteer orientations until he returns.

Volunteer Selection
HSTB requires that all potential volunteers go through a selection process. This process ensures that HSTB volunteers fit the needs of the program and understand the unique environment in which they will work. The selection process may take up to two months. Please note that applicants will be selected based on the current needs of HSTB and we receive over 100 volunteer applications each month.
Time Commitment
HSTB requires that you commit 1 day a week and 30 hours in the first 6 months. This commitment ensures that the program will operate smoothly and that the maximum benefit is derived for the animals. Please advise us in writing if you are unable to make the time commitment for a given month.
Training
HSTB will provide training to all volunteers. Volunteers are required to complete the training for each position in which they are selected to serve.
