Full-Time Surgery Technician for Shelter

SIGNING BONUS AVAILABLE* The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is seeking a full-time, experienced Surgery/Vet Tech for our shelter. This position is Monday through Friday. Surgery Tech will be cross trained to work in our Exam Department as needed.

Candidate must have clinical experience and know how to monitor anesthesia, intubate dogs and cats, have comprehensive knowledge of anesthetic drugs and basic knowledge of anatomy for anesthetic injections. Candidate must be experienced in cytology, urinalysis, fecals, parasite identification and treatment, blood draws, vaccinations, tests, skins scrapes, aging, animal restraint, medication dosing calculations and their uses. Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Candidate must also possess and demonstrate excellent team player spirit, be able to multi-task, and show focus and follow through in a very busy, high volume environment. The Surgery Tech will also work in the Exam Dept working with incoming animals and caring for our population within the shelter for medical needs. Being able to work independently and be self motivated is crucial to this position, as well as attention to details. Candidate must have good data entry skills.

Veterinary Technician- Shelter

SIGNING BONUS AVAILABLE* The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is seeking two full-time, experienced Vet Techs for our shelter. This position includes weekends, some holidays and some evenings. Candidates must have clinical experience and be proficient in fecals, parasite identification, blood draws, vaccinations, skins scrapes, aging, animal restraint, routine dentals and daily computer data entry. Candidates must also possess and demonstrate excellent team player spirit, be able to multi-task, and show focus and follow through in a very busy environment. Experience with surgery pack prep a plus. This position will consist of 3 days per week working as a vet tech and 2 days per week working on the phones and working directly with customers.

Happy Tails # 762
Cody and Gia came to HSTB this December with donations in tow! They used to be Betty Boop and Cody and were extremely emaciated when we took them in two years ago. One of our Gold-shirt volunteers fostered them back to health and they have found a wonderful forever family! Now they are so happy and healthy. The profile picture is them with their new family and donations, and the picture below is their reunion with their foster mom, Ornella.
