We adopted Tripp last January 23rd (which according to our kids is now his “adoption/birthday” J). To be honest, I didn’t think we’d find a dog that would fit our active family. I walked into the Humane Society, and said to the first person I saw by the cages, “Hi! I’m looking for a dog that’s small, since we don’t have a big back yard, and is good with kids (we have 4 from ages 8-3) doesn’t bark too much, and loves to play. You probably don’t have a dog like that..” And the person I was speaking with was holding this little dog, putting him back in a cage, and she looked at me and said, “this is the dog for you! He’s cute and sweet, and I’ve been holding him all day and I can’t understand why he hasn’t been adopted yet!” So, I took him outside with my 4 year old son and we played with him. He was so sweet, easygoing and cute that I fell for him right away. My husband took more time… The next day was a Sunday, so we rushed right over at 12 when it opened and grabbed “Mr T’s” paperwork and took him outside as a family. He was wonderful! We took out a couple of other dogs, but none of them seemed to “fit”. Finally, we all decided that we really wanted this dog to be a part of our family! We took him home that day, and I couldn’t believe what an easy transition he had. He apparently had already been housebroken (they said he was about 2 years old, but our vet said closer to 1), and he immediately enjoyed playing fetch and chase with all the kids. He taught us right away what kind of food he wanted, and we learned a routine. Now, he’s definitely found his furever home here! We all love our little guy, and he keeps us all in kisses, cuddles, and fun.

I can’t believe we found such a great dog at the Humane Society! We were told that before he came there, he was going to be sent to a kill-shelter, and I’m so glad he didn’t! Thanks for everything!

God bless,

Amy Pawlusiak
