Gasparilla is here and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay (HSTB) is celebrating all things pirate with their Catsparilla Adoption Promotion. This weekend, January 17 – 19, adoption fees for cats and kittens will be waived for adopters sporting pirate or Gasparilla attire. Beads, eye patches or peg legs, it doesn’t matter what is worn as long as it shows pirate panache.
The promotion aims to give cats equal footing during a weekend that has gone to the dogs! More than 20 of the Society’s dogs will be vacationing in Orlando where they will be up for adoption at the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) conference. Other lucky canines will walk with the Krewe of Argos (Humane Society staff and volunteers) in the Gasparilla Children’s Parade!
“Our dogs will get lots of exposure this weekend at the NAVC conference and during the Children’s Parade,” said HSTB Executive Director Sherry Silk. “We thought it only fitting to show the cats some love by bringing the party to them. We hope all our cats will find loving homes and leave us with many empty cages so that we can open our doors to more cats in need.”
