For an unprecedented eighth consecutive year, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay has earned Charity Navigator’s coveted 4-star rating for demonstrating strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency. Charity Navigator evaluates more than 1.5 million American charities and highlights efficient and transparent organizations to an evolving donor base that pursues responsibility in their charitable decisions.
The 4-star rating is Charity Navigator’s highest honor and indicates that the Humane Society of Tampa Bay exceeds industry standards, outperforms most charities in the field, and adheres to best practices and financial efficiency. Receiving this rating for eight consecutive years is an achievement reached by only 2% of charities nationwide and distinguishes the Humane Society of Tampa Bay as one of America’s top performing and most trustworthy charities.
“The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is extremely grateful to our donors for granting us the means to save more than 7,000 lives each year,” said HSTB Chief Development Officer Karen Ryals. “One way we show them our gratitude is by stewarding their gifts in the most ethical way. Our donors can be confident that investing in our mission is a safe and responsible decision.”
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay has served animals in the greater Tampa Bay community and throughout the southeast for more than 100 years. The Society is not affiliated with any national animal welfare organization and receives no state or federal funding but relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to realize their mission of ending animal homelessness and providing care and comfort for companion animals in need.
