Save-A-Pet Medical Fund

Picture this:

You’ve lost your job, are behind on your mortgage and have a family to feed and clothe. Your savings has dwindled as you’ve struggled to make ends meet while unemployed.

One afternoon, you open your door to get the mail and your dog, eyeing a squirrel, darts right into the street and is hit by a car. You rush him to the vet and find that his leg is shattered and will need amputation. You hear the crushing news and your heart sinks as you realize that the cost of surgery and care is simply beyond your capacity. It looks like your only choice is to euthanize this young, loving companion who has become such an integral part of your family. Your heart breaks.

Hopefully, you will never be faced with such a difficult situation. But for those who are, we can help.

The Save-A-Pet Medical Fund was established to cover the cost of *veterinary care for pets whose people are experiencing financial hardship. By donating to this fund, you are giving back to the community in a powerful way. Not only are you helping pets in need, you are also extending the circle of compassion by helping the people who love them. One day, that circle will come back around to you.

To apply for use of these funds, please call 813.870.3304.

*Save-A-Pet funds are available only to clients of our Animal Health Center and do not cover preventative or routine care such as vaccinations or Heartworm/flea preventative. Fund distribution is available at the discretion of the Animal Health Center Practice Manager and Executive Director and is considered on a case-by-case basis. Proof of financial hardship is required.

Our state-of-the-art Animal Health Center offers affordable veterinary care and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries to the public, seven days a week.

Any proceeds from the Animal Health Center will benefit the mission and programs at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.
