To become a volunteer, you are required to attend a Volunteer Orientation. Orientations will be held twice a month in the HSTB Conference Center (holidays and special events excluded). These dates are subject to change so please check this site frequently for any changes in dates and/or times. You are required to pre-register for the orientation.
To register, click “Register Now” on the calendar below and you will be redirected to the registration page. If the date you wish to attend does not appear in the drop down menu, that means that registration for that session is full.
School Community Service Hours
High school and college students seeking hours for school service requirements do not need to attend an orientation or fill out an application, but must SIGN UP HERE. Please note that the only available shifts are those listed on the site. Please sign up for ONE shift only. If you are unable to make it, please cancel your shift as soon as possible. Three no-shows will make the offender ineligible to volunteer at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. When you arrive at the shelter for your shift, you will sign in with Leslie, Tammy, or Angel. Students must be 16 years old to volunteer and must follow our volunteer dresscode:
- No sandals, flip-flops, tank or tube tops
- Rubber soled, closed toe shoes are best (i.e. gym shoes or work boots)
- Clothes may be exposed to bleach while volunteering, so please dress accordingly
- Revealing and/or offensive clothing will not be allowed
