The recent string of dead cats found on a bay area bridge as well of reports of similar occurrences in Charleston, SC, have us deeply concerned. While it is possible that recent flooding in the Tampa Bay region could have brought more cats to the vicinity of the bridge, the likelihood of them making their way several miles down the bridge on their own before succumbing to illness or injury is extremely slim.
A core program at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay aims to protect and save the lives of feral and community cats through humane, aggressive Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return. To see evidence that someone is harming cats with such cold intention is alarming.
That is why we are offering a $1,000 reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest. To report information about these occurrences, please contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office or Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
