UPDATE! March 12, 2015: The Tampa Police Department has made four arrests in Cabela’s case. Two of the suspects are juveniles who are charged with aggravated animal cruelty and armed trespassing. The other two suspects are adults who are both charged with possession of a fighting dog. Our hearts break for what Cabela went through but we know she is in wonderful hands at Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Service and will find a loving adoptive home through them. Help us spread the word through Cabela’s story that dog fighting and abuse is NOT cool and NOT to be tolerated, ever.
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay will contribute $2,500 to the reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) who shot Cabela (STORY HERE). If you have information about the perpetrator(s) please call 813-231-6130.
Many many thanks to Tampa Police Department for rescuing her and to our friends at Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Service for taking such good care of her while she recovers.
If you would like to contribute to our reward fund to help find Cabela’s abuser(s) and to assist with other cases like hers, you can do so HERE. (Any contributions to this fund may be added to Cabela’s reward and/or used to fund future rewards for similar cruelty cases)

Our animal hospital offers Zeutering by client request, on a case-by-case basis.
An FDA approved method, Zeutering is a non-surgical way to neuter male dogs without the use of anesthesia, that leaves the testicles intact. The neutering process uses ZeuterinTM, a solution of zinc gluconate neutralized by arginine. The method not only reduces the cost of neutering, but there is little recovery time, no irritation and no stitches. In addition, males are left with up to 50% of their testosterone.

How It Works

Dogs are sedated and a small needle is used to inject ZeuterinTM into each testicle. The dogs’ bellies are then tattooed with a “Z” to indicate that they are sterilized. Sedation is reversed and, after just a few moments, the dogs are awake, alert and ready to go home!
If you are interested in Zeutering for your male dog, please call 813.870.3304 for more information, cost and to schedule an appointment.
