Of all the work we do, one initiative is the rudder that keeps us on course to save more lives: offering low-cost spaying and neutering to the community.
It is an irrefutable fact- spaying and neutering is the most effective way to reduce pet overpopulation and the subsequent euthanasia of adoptable pets in shelters across the country. It is also better for the health of pets as it reduces the risk of cancers and infections of the reproductive systems.
In 2000, we opened our low-cost spay/neuter clinic for the public. In the past 18 years, we’ve
- expanded those services to include affordable veterinary care
- built a state-of-the-art hospital for the community
- become Florida’s first AAHA-accredited non-profit animal hospital
- STERILIZED 282,807 PETS IN THE COMMUNITY
We are fortunate to partner with PetSmart Charities, an organization that shares our commitment to affordable pet sterilization. This year, we are excited to offer two spay/neuter specials to the most marginalized companion animals in our midst: pit bulls/bully breeds and feral cats. There are simply more of these animals than the community can sustain and, tragically, they are the ones who suffer the consequences.
Help us spread the word that the power to save lives is in the community’s hands, and that we, alongside PetSmart Charities, are providing the tools to make it easy and affordable.
