URGENT: Overcrowding

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay and the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center are experiencing extreme overcrowding, especially for dogs. It is not an issue for just Tampa Bay but shelters nationwide. As a result, injured, sick, and stray animals are taking priority over owner-surrendered animals. If we cannot take in your owned pet, we will provide you with other resources to try, and you are welcome to check in with us again to see if our overcrowding situation has improved (earlier in the week is usually better). Thank you for understanding.

Photos with Santa are Back!

Join us on December 14th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for our annual Photos with Santa. Jolly St. Nick will be at the shelter offering holiday photos for your whole family—both 2- and 4-legged children are welcome! Santa asks for a $10 suggested donation for your photo.

2024 Holiday Hours

HSTB will close early Wednesday the 27th at 3 pm and be closed Thursday the 28th for Thanksgiving. We will also be closed on December 24th and 25th. Happy Holidays!
