Want to show how awesome your dog is? We do! The Humane Society of Tampa Bay and The New Barker are teaming up to showcase our community’s dogs! A total of four dogs will be selected from our Facebook & Instagram contests. Each dog will be featured in the next issue of The New Barker and the next issue of the Humane Society’s Making Tracks newsletter reaching over 40,000 homes and over 114,000 social media followers!

The love of an adopted pet changes everything! The Petco Foundation is giving out grant awards to organizations like ours, and prizes to adopters like you! All you have to do is something that all of us pet parents do every day anyway – post a picture of your pet!  Post a photo or video sharing your love for your adopted pet using the hashtag #ShelterValentine and be sure to tag both Humane Society of Tampa Bay and Petco Foundation. Celebrate adoption with us and have the chance to win daily prizes from February 1-14!

How to Participate

1. Contest goes from February 1 to 14
2. Post a photo or video Valentine on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #ShelterValentine AND be sure to tag us and Petco Foundation
3. Your account must be public for this entry
4. Daily winners will receive a prize pack including a Petco gift card and other fun items, and the organization where the pet was adopted (US!) will also win a lifesaving grant award – everyone wins!

Bark in the Park is quickly approaching, and we need your help! You can help us feed, shelter, care for, and comfort our animals by raising money for Bark in the Park.

Bark in the Park Contest: Meet & Greet with Victor Hedman

Bark in the Park will be here before you know it! Form your pack now and raise $75 in donations between Thursday,12/5 and Tuesday,12/10 for a chance to win 2 tickets to the Tampa Bay Lightning game on Saturday, 12/14 vs Washington at 7:00 PM and MEET VICTOR HEDMAN after the game! Two winners will be randomly selected and announced on our social media platforms at 3:00 PM EST on Wednesday, 12/11.

ALL of the funds raised for and from this event go directly to our homeless animals. You can help us feed, shelter, care for, and comfort our animals by raising money for Bark in the Park!

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay has the opportunity to receive the $100,000 grand prize grant or a finalist award grant ranging from $5,000 to $50,000.
Anyone who has adopted a pet from us is encouraged to submit a story to the Petco Foundation’s Holiday Wishes campaign, giving HSTB a chance to win one of several grant awards.
Petco will also award the person who submits the winning story a $1,000 Petco gift card, giving them the chance to spoil their adopted pet just in time for the holidays.

How to Participate

1. Write your story of love in 500 words or less. Visit petcofoundation.org/holidaywishes to read prior year’s winning entries and get some inspiration!

2. Include one photo of your pet by him/herself, one photo of you or your family with your pet and up to two other photos to illustrate how your pet has changed your life. Pets must have been adopted from HSTB, and they must be living to qualify.

3. Stories can be submitted starting August 12. Submit your story and photos to petcofoundation.org/holidaywishes by Monday, September 23 – but hurry because only the first 10,000 stories are guaranteed to be reviewed!

4. Include our organization’s contact information so that we can be eligible for a grant award!
