The Humane Society and Home Buddies by Camp Bow Wow have teamed up to offer dog obedience group classes at the Humane Society. Classes are taught by Glen Hatchell, a CPDT Certified Trainer and Behavior Specialist who manages the Shelter Dog Playgroup program here at the Humane Society. The group obedience classes are designed for all ages, from 10-week old puppies to more mature dogs. Our reward-based training program is structured to progress your dog from basic obedience all the way to being a well-behaved dog in public, or even take their Canine Good Citizen test.
All of our classes include:
- Positive reinforcement methods proven to decrease bad behavior and increase good behavior
- Knowledge of how and when to create replacement behaviors
- Description, demonstration and practice of all training exercises
We have three obedience class levels. Each level is 6-weeks long, one-hour per week.
