Adopt a Kitty
Cats come spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and ready for a lifetime of love!
Adoptions are same day and done on a first-come, first-served basis. We do not hold pets or do adoptions via phone, social media or email.
If you have recently adopted and your pet is not feeling well or has a medical concern, please get in touch with our Animal Health Center Manager, Gretel Harvey, at 813-252-2026. HSTB absolutely WILL NOT reimburse for any medical expenses at any other Veterinary Facility if you choose to seek medical attention elsewhere.
Steps to Adopting a Cat

Find the cat(s) that are right for you.
Cats listed are available to adopt. The website is updated daily. -
Visit our shelter and meet with the cat(s) that interest you.
Once you find a cat that you are interested in bring their kennel card (paper with cat’s name located on wall in cat room or on cat condo) to the front desk in our adoption lobby. -
Meet with an adoption coordinator.
You will meet with one of our staff members to sign paperwork, go over information and any questions. -
Take your new family member home and start your life together.
All cats must leave the shelter in a carrier. If you need cat supplies we have a retail store located within our shelter for your convenience.

Kittens: $99
(3 months and under)
Adult Cats: $50
(over 3 months – 8 years old)
Senior Cats: $25
(over 8 years old)

Working cats are feral or semi-feral cats adopted at no-charge to families with barns, outbuildings, sheds, garages, etc. who would like a cat to help with pest control and/or keep farm animals company.
In exchange, the adopters provide their new feline friend with daily food, water and a cozy place to sleep.
